How to add a speed overlay to GoPro video

If your GoPro has GPS and it was on, the speed is already in your video file. You don't need a watch or any other data.

The steps

1. Drag your GoPro clip into Framemetry. Long recordings split across chapters join automatically if you add them together.
2. The Speed overlay is on by default. Drag it where you want.
3. Change the size, colour or style from the panel on the right.
4. Export the whole clip, or set a start and end point first.

If there's no speed

The note beside the clip will say no activity covers it. That usually means GPS was off, or the camera never got a fix. In that case, add a GPX or FIT file from another device.
