How to add GPS data to a video
The steps to put speed, your route and more on any video, with no editing skills needed.
You need two things: your video, and a record of what you did, usually from a watch, bike computer or phone app. Some GoPro cameras record both in the video file.
The steps
- Open the Framemetry editor. No account is needed to try it.
- Drag in your video and your activity file. FIT, GPX and TCX all work.
- Check the sync. Framemetry lines them up from the recording time, and shows how it did it beside the clip.
- Tick the overlays you want and drag them into place.
- Export. The first two exports are free, with a watermark.
If nothing lines up
The most common cause is the camera's clock being set to the wrong date or time zone. Choose the activity by hand from the list, then press Auto-sync. For clips of a minute or more, Framemetry looks through the whole activity for the movement in the picture. If it can't find a clear match, use the sync buttons to line it up.
